On Wednesday 16 March, Hinckley & Rugby Building Society’s Chief Executive, Colin Fyfe, will be ‘imprisoned’ in a unique challenge to raise £2,000 for Comic Relief.
The Society’s CEO will spend the day ‘locked up’ until his target of £2,000 in donations is reached, when he will eventually be bailed out.
To get out of jail, Colin will be calling on his family, friends and business contacts to help reach his target. The public can also make donations to Comic Relief, a charity the Society supports every year. The question is, will Colin be able to get out?
Colin said:
“I’m really looking forward to this challenge and hope our efforts are rewarded with a substantial donation to the charity. The Comic Relief fundraiser is something the Society and its staff look forward to each year and we enjoy thinking up interesting ways to raise money for a charity which supports so many projects and organisations on our doorstep and around the world. Hopefully, my colleagues, family and friends will dig deep to donate and release me from jail!”

Progress on the ‘prisoner’ will be posted on the Society’s social media pages throughout the day and can be tracked using #HRBSJailBreak.
Alongside the jailbreak challenge, the Society will also be holding a red nose and spoon race and bake sale for staff at its head office. On the high street, colleagues from its branches will take part by wearing red for the day on Friday.
