Carolyn Thornley-Yates, Director of Mortgage Proposition and Distribution at Hinckley & Rugby Building Society, has been celebrated as one of the best women mortgage leaders in the UK.
Mortgage Introducer, a leading publication in the mortgage industry, has announced the outstanding women selected as the Elite Women of 2023. These individuals are recognised as exceptional female leaders for shaping the future of mortgages by revolutionising the mortgage sector, challenging stereotypes, promoting diversity and inclusion, and inspiring other women to excel.
The women leaders being celebrated have emerged as genuine role models who possess a comprehensive understanding of the industry. They were selected due because they excel in envisioning the bigger picture, formulating strategic approaches, and acknowledging the impact of their work on others’ motivation and success.
Carolyn Thornley-Yates, one of 55 women recognised by Mortgage Introducer, said:
“I am incredibly honoured to be recognised as an exceptional female leader in the mortgage industry. This recognition is not just a celebration of my accomplishments, but a testament to the collective efforts of all those who have championed diversity, inclusion, and innovation within our sector. It is my belief that a truly inclusive industry is one where everyone can thrive, regardless of their gender, background, or circumstances. I hope our work has inspired others to excel and embrace their unique talents.”
Liz Syms, Vice Chair of the Society of Mortgage Professionals and CEO of Connect for Intermediaries says:
“With recognition such as Elite Women, the mortgage market has led the way in bringing more women into the industry. It’s fantastic to see how many more women there are today at events and in advisory rather than administrative roles.”
Mortgage Introducer invited industry professionals from across the UK to nominate exceptional female role models for the second annual Elite Women list. Nominees had to be working in a role that related to, interacted with, or in some way impacted the industry and should have demonstrated a clear passion for their work. Those nominating were asked to describe the nominee’s standout professional achievements over the past 12 months, initiatives and innovations they have been involved with, and their contributions to the mortgage industry. Following a meticulous review of all nominations received, the Mortgage Introducer team carefully narrowed down that list to the final 55 Elite Women.
