Hinckley & Rugby warmly welcome you to join your friendly branch team for our Community Open Day on Wednesday 2 August 2023. Join us from 10am – 2pm, where we will be emphasising our commitment to remaining on your high streets and helping you understand how we can support you and your local communities.
For over 150 years, Hinckley & Rugby Building Society have been providing people with a safe place for their savings and offering mortgages to enable them to invest those savings in their dream homes. However, changing times have seen the services we offer and how we can support you evolve, and we’re keen to welcome you into our branches to find out more.
Economic challenges and the social shift in priorities since the pandemic have seen the need to gain control of personal finances and the true value of community at the forefront of everyone’s minds. There is also an increasing sense of urgency to address climate change which has seen a heightened awareness of what we can do within our own lives and homes to contribute towards positive change. At the Society we have observed this sentiment in our members and have taken steps to help deliver solutions, while remaining present and committed to your local towns and villages.
We have built relationships with local schools and have delivered financial education sessions to young people, providing them with vital life skills. We are also reaching out to local businesses to introduce our workplace savings scheme, which will remove the barriers of time and effort and make regular saving hassle-free, as well as introducing products specifically designed to help ‘non-saver’s take their first steps into securing their financial futures and alleviating money worries.
We have introduced a Community Foundation which has seen the Society’s profits reinvested back into our neighbourhood charities, which are relied upon by so many local people. We have also launched competitive savings products to further support those same charities financially while offering our time, space, and resources to help them to deliver their vital services.
We have brought our climate strategy into sharp focus and taken steps to reduce our carbon footprint at the same time as launching progressive green mortgage products, designed specifically for members who wish to make their homes more efficient.
Director of Branches, Agencies and Savings Andrea Belle said:
“This is the perfect opportunity for local people, businesses, and charities to pop in and speak to us about what we can do to support them. The importance of community is clear, and our doors are always open to conversations about what we can offer through our services, skills, and time.”
If you’d like to hear more about any of these initiatives or simply wish to assess your savings and see if you can make your money work harder for you, visit your local team from 10am until 2pm on Wednesday 2 August 2023 for our Community Open Day.
