Pillar 3 disclosure
Just like all other banks and building societies in the UK, the Society is subject to the provisions of the Capital Requirements Directive (CRD).
The CRD provides rules that determine how much capital institutions such as banks and building societies are required to maintain to protect the interests of their depositors.
The rules are divided into three pillars, the third of which contains the disclosure requirements of the CRD. This requires the Society to prepare and publish a document providing details of the principal business risks faced by the Society, the Society’s approach to their management and a breakdown of certain elements of the capital allocation required by the CRD.
