Lost and forgotten savings accounts

I have account documents

Lost savings accounts are sometimes known as ‘dormant’ (sleeping) because they haven’t been used for a long time.

To find and claim your balance it will be much easier if you have a passbook or an account statement or letter. If you have one of these documents (showing the account number), please contact us.

I do not have any account documents

If you do not have any account documents, the Building Society Association (BSA) may be able to help. It has created a free online service that allows you to trace savings accounts that you may have lost or forgotten about. You may also be able to trace another person’s lost savings account if you have the legal authority to do so.

You can get more information at mylostaccount.org.uk
