Hinckley and Rugby Building Society savers, who choose to invest in the Society’s Hospice Affinity account, have enabled over £200,000 to be donated to three local Hospices.
Launched in 2008 the Society’s Affinity account provides a safe home for members’ savings and an easy way to give back, as each year the Society donate one per cent of the average balances held in the account to three local Hospices – Leicester based LOROS, Mary Ann Evans Hospice in Nuneaton and The Myton Hospices, covering Warwickshire.
Since the account launched, a total of £209,000 has been shared by the three Hospices following this year’s donation of over £23,000.
Loros Supporter Engagement Lead Mark Clements said:
“We rely on the amazing support of organisations like Hinckley and Rugby to provide high quality care across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland, helping people and their families at the end of their lives.”
Chris Wilmott from Myton Hospice added:
“It’s amazing the Hospice account has now raised over £200,000 for local Hospices, it’s a remarkable achievement. The support we receive is priceless, enabling us to continue to provide our care, free of charge, to terminally ill patients across Coventry and Warwickshire and support their families when they need it most.”
The Society’s Head of Savings, Andrea Belle commented:
“I am so pleased the Society is able to show its support to the hospices providing these vital services in our local communities. I would like to pass on my thanks to the Society’s savers who have chosen this very special account and made these wonderful donations possible.”
